This past February, Wizards of the Coast announced Dungeons & Dragons Fan Expo: London 2026, a two-day live event scheduled to take place in August at the O2 Arena in London. The event would include actual plays, live panels and on-site gaming, all under the banner of celebrating the global D&D community.
According to a recent press release from organizer AEG Presents, however, the event has officially been cancelled. No specific details were given as to why it was shuttered just a few months before it was scheduled to take place on August 21-22. AEG has, however, said that the event will be rescheduled for September 2027 and that full refunds will be provided.
Below, we take a closer look at what the event was going to be about and why it was likely cancelled.

Dungeons & Dragons Fan Expo London 2026 would have been a two-day live event running from August 21st to 22nd, 2026 that was designed connect with fans and promote the larger D&D brand as a whole. The primary focus was going to be on several high-profile actual play performances, but there would also have been live panels, D&D tables, merchandise and cosplay events.

The show is typically run by DM Mark Hulmes and features a regular cast including Chris Trott, Katie Morrison, Kim Richards, Rhiannon Frost and Tom Hazell. What’s planned for D&D Fan Expo 2027?
According to AEG, the rescheduled event will take place next year from September 4-5, 2027 at The O2 Arena in London, UK. Notably, the O2 is one of Europe’s largest entertainment complexes, known for hosting major concerts, esports events and large-scale live productions.
AEG has not confirmed if any of the same guests from the cancelled 2026 show will be attending, noting only that: “The headline event on Sunday 5 September 2027 will feature a Live Actual Play show with some of the biggest names in D&D on stage at The O2. There will also be a wide range of D&D themed activities during the day, including panels, Q&As and gaming tables, as well as access to all the bars, shops and restaurants that The O2 has to offer.
Across The O2’s campus, there will be a variety of things to do and see all included in your show ticket. There will also be the opportunity to purchase extras for the event, including meet and greet and photo ops – more information on this and other things to do and see will be released soon.”

Final Thoughts
It’s disappointing that Dungeons & Dragons Fan Expo was cancelled, as it seemed like major milestone event for the game and the actual play scene as a whole. It’s not entirely clear what happened, although it’s possible that ticket sales were lower than expected or that there were significant logistical issues to sort out in in a short period of time. It remains to be seen if the event will continue in 2027 as planned.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this story in the days ahead and will update this page with new information as it’s made available. In the meantime, you can learn more and sign up for notifications on the official D&D Fan Expo website.
